Christmas Help

I'm not from Minneapolis so I don't know specifically where to look, but I know when I lived in California and had a rental emergency there was an organization that helped no matter your income. I think there is one in Wisconsin too called Staring Points. They look at each situation individually.

I used to make really good money in CA but because my ex refused to work and I had to pay a lot of day care and rent was so high then I was laid off and I fell into the same situation and lost my apartment and didn't find out until after I had already lost it the place could help. I was so bummed. I wish I had known more about it. I don't want the same to happen to you.

There's got to be something locally out there. Especially in that cold weather.

You can make extra money on your computer if you leave it on

To save extra money I would try The Grocery Game (http://www.grocerygame.com). It helps you pick out which deals are best at the store like if you buy two cans of soup for $3.00 and the store has a discount of 2 for 1 and you use the manufacturer coupon then it ends up  being like 79 cents for the can. It teaches you how to do this and build up an inventory. I'm just starting to do this.

The other ones are like get paid to click emails but I'm not sure if they're allowed here. I have http://bizoppresource.blogspot.com where I post many of the ones I do. You get an email and click on the link and make like a penny or 1/2 cent. I do that while I'm watching tv or doing dishes. You could also try blogging for a living. Make a blog out of the things you like to do and put some affiliate links on it. With that I make from ten cents to 7 bucks a day and it is now at about $30.00 per month.

trying to think of more...

After loving punk and new wave since the late 1970s I will keep an eye out for the next Vans tour (we went this year in Milwaukee.) Keep up the good work!

Food Shelters Can Help if You're Hungry

Recently I was lucky enough to get a rather large and ongoing assignment for a company. As fortunate as that is, the income I received lowered my assistance rather harshly and abruptly. As my goal is to get completely off assistance, I needed to get some help feeding the kids while the transition took place.

I called the local food pantry with the Salvation Army to see if they could help. I was able to pick up food donated by others and the local grocery stores. Fortunately my kids love bread so all the bread really helped. I also received some grocery money to buy some fresh items.

I believe this and other services are available for others in most areas. Call your local economic services department and ask if there is one around.

One thing I would like to do when I do get caught up is once a week go to an elderly person's house who is having a hard time making ends meet or getting help and make dinner for them with groceries I have purchased. Since I have a family of my own to take care of I can't do this every day, but helping out and making a new friend would be very nice.

I would like to join by helping people on the AIDPAGE.com. I've been living frugally for awhile so I hope that any experience I can give will help others.

There is a company that will pay you to download their program and run their software. You can only make about $45.00 per month tops, but it is grocery money for a week or a special gift for yourself or something you can donate to someone else.

I don't believe I can post the link here so you will need to contact me for the information. If I am wrong then please tell me and I'll post it.

I've been able to just survive while being out of work by doing little things like that. I did some pay-to-click programs and other odd jobs while waiting for that work call. It all ads up and pays off. Many of these things you can do while watching tv, or a few clicks before you go to bed or wake up in the morning.

About inthefrozentundra

I'm a mom in Wisconsin without heat, food, or presents for Christmas. I was unemployed due to a disability and would work for money here and there. Since I was on assistance it was easy enough to save for presents and food. Well, recently I was fortunate enough to get a job that I could do with my disability yet I was so far behind on many bills that I've been spending almost every cent I make on the unpaid bills that would be disconnected. I've lost many of my benefits and my housing cost went up because of the income, which it should. Unfortunately though, I wasn't able to catch up and now I'm just barely making it. They don't really give you time to "wean" off of it when you're behind in everything else.

The oil company will not put oil in the heater until I give them cash up front. It's -2 here and the house has leaks everywhere. We're down to staying in the family room where I've had to block it off from the living room with a blanket and some vinyl and it's still cold. I just can't seem to warm the house up without oil heat. I can't stay upstairs because getting up and down them at night is almost impossible.

Once I get caught up with everything I will be okay but now I have the big decision of whether to pay the electric bill to keep the house going or the Internet bill to keep my job. I just want to get ahead for once. I won't even go where Christmas is going to be this year. I told the kids Santa will come on the 25th and then I'll give my presents in January because the youngest one still believes in Santa. I don't have the heart to break it to him just yet. And even still, it will just be some candy in a stocking.

I don't like to just get things for free. I like to work for them. I can do web pages, write, and so much more. I'm grateful for anything I can help with to make some cash or ?? Thanks.
